User Defined Objects (UDOs) have been around for years. However, JDE clients, administrators and end users consider this topic “a gray area”. Why is that? In our experience, this is a result of the initial database and JDE security setup, as well as the management of UDOs using the Web OMW. In part one of this two-part article, we will outline the recommended “out of the box” Oracle settings at the database level, review all User Defined Object types and which of those should have JDE Security applied to control use by Users.
