World to EnterpriseOne Migration and Upgrade
Incorporated in 1929 and headquartered in Columbia, Missouri, MFA Oil Company is a farmer-owned cooperative that provides energy solutions across 11 states. In addition to delivering high-quality propane, fuels and lubricants, MFA oil operates several Break Time convenience stores, Big O Tire retail locations, and Jiffy Lube service stations. With more than 40,000 farmer owners, MFA Oil is one of the top 10 largest propane companies in the US.
With HR and Payroll still using JD Edwards World applications and the rest of the company systems using an older release of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, MFA Oil made the decision to upgrade the entire system to latest release of EnterpriseOne and migrate HR and Payroll to EnterpriseOne. In addition to staying current with the latest release of EnterpriseOne, MFA Oil needed business information more quickly for better business decision-making ability and increased productivity. Based on their favorable industry reputation and recommendations from others, MFA Oil chose GSI, Inc. to perform the functional upgrade and migration to the latest release EnterpriseOne.
GSI worked with MFA Oil to determine a plan that outlined milestones, and identified responsible parties and leaders for the upgrade and migration project. The project was performed within a one-year time frame, under budget, and on time. All project goals were met and HR and Payroll were successfully migrated to the upgraded EnterpriseOne system. MFA Oil may now leverage the improved and added functionality of the latest EnterpriseOne system to make better business decisions. In addition, moving HR and Payroll to EnterpriseOne, has progressed the monthly closeout of books from an average 15 business days to 4. HR and Payroll employees have adapted to the new interface much more easily and quickly than the previous World installation. MFA Oil is pleased with the increase in productivity, speed of data delivery, and consolidation of their systems into the latest release of EnterpriseOne.
